Start your road trip in Braga before heading south to the medieval town of Guimaraes. The town of Guimarães is of historic value and a UNESCO World Heritage site. The road then continues onwards to the second exciting city Porto.
After Porto, before hitting the coastal road to the great white beaches of Figueira da Foz, head east towards the vineyards and steep valleys of Penafiel and Amarante. From here it's not far to Peniche and Ericeira.
Then on to Lisbon, Portugal's vibrant capital, largest city and major port. Drive south to Sagres, Arrifana and Carrapateira. After soaking up the sun on the picturesque coastline of the Algarve, take the road to the Mediterranean Dream, otherwise known as Faro.
If your feet get stiff and you feel like stretching, then make your way to Faro. In town, you'll catch a ferry from Algeciras (in Spain) to Morocco. Imagine the pleasure of your trip if you visit the desert village of Merzouga and then explore the Sahara - it would be an unforgettable experience!
